Add-on Showcase – Music Box

Happy New Years to everyone! I’m back with another great add-on for you. This add-on is strictly focused on music. It will allow you to listen/watch just about any song you’re looking for. I say “just about” because I did have a few searches that came up empty. However, for the most part, I found what I was looking for. Give it a try and let me know your results. Before we get started, I will share one thing I loved about this add-on that made it great enough to share. I went into the charts category and clicked on Billboard – Hot Latin Songs. There, I just clicked on the first one. After it was finished, it kept playing every other song automatically. This might be the best add-on for your parties!

Before you get started

This add-on is not hosted on any repositories, so I added it to a folder on my website.

These instructions are based on the Confluence and Estuary Skins. If you have any others, you will have to figure it out or switch temporarily.

On Kodi 17 and higher, make sure to change the settings to allow add-ons from unknown sources. Follow these quick steps.

  • Select the gear icon on the main screen to bring up the settings
  • Select “System settings”
  • Highlight “Add-ons”
  • Enable “Unknown sources” and choose “Yes” when asked

Instructions for Confluence Skin

  • Highlight “System” and Select “File manager”
  • Select “Add source” and type in “http://lbtechtips.com/krypton/”
  • Under “Enter a name for this media source” you can type in “Krypton Repository”
  • Select OK when finished
  • Go back to the previous screen and Select “Settings”
  • Select “Add-ons”
  • Select “Install from zip file”
  • Locate “Krypton Repository” and Select it
  • Select the “addons” folder
  • Select “repository.techdealer-1.3.zip” which will install automatically
  • Select “Install from repository”
  • Locate and Select “Techdealer Repo”
  • Select “Music add-ons”
  • Select and Install “Music Box”

Instructions for Estuary Skin

  • Select the gear icon on the main screen
  • Select “File manager”
  • Select “Add source” and type in “http://lbtechtips.com/krypton/”
  • Under “Enter a name for this media source” you can type in “Krypton Repository”
  • Select OK when finished
  • Go back to the main screen where you have Movies, TV Shows, etc..
  • Highlight “Add-ons” then Select “My add-ons”
  • If you do not see “Install from zip file” just Select the two dots above “All”
  • Now Select “Install from zip file”
  • Locate “Krypton Repository” and Select it
  • Select the “addons” folder
  • Select “repository.techdealer-1.3.zip” which will install automatically
  • Select “Install from repository”
  • Locate and Select “Techdealer Repo”
  • Select “Music add-ons”
  • Select and Install “Music Box”

First time use

When you open the add-on for the first time, it will ask you to either log-in to an account, or change the media source to YouTube. I prefer to use YouTube in order to avoid having to create extra accounts. To do this, follow the steps below. Otherwise, you can go ahead and make an account, then just put the information in the settings to log-in.

  • Select “OK” on the message
  • It will open the settings where you will then highlight the “General” tab
  • Highlight “Media Source” and change this value to “Youtube”
  • Select “OK”
  • Go back and re-open the add-on to refresh it
